Top 5 Beaches in New South Wales
New South Wales, one of Australia’s six states, is full of natural beauty – including its many beaches along the Tasman Sea. Australian summers are really hot, which refreshingly balances with the cold waters coming from Antarctica. However, it is still nice outside to take a dip in the waters during the winter too! Visit these top 5 beaches on your next trip to the New South Wales!
Werri Beach – Gerringong
Werri Beach is perfect for a family vacation, with awesome vacation rentals nearby and other great activities to do as well. Bodysurf the waves or swim a few laps in the rock pools at the end of the beach. You’ll also get a great view of the beach and surrounding fields when driving into Gerringong.
Hyam’s Beach – Jervis Bay
Hyam’s Beach has been noted as one of the whitest sand beaches in the world! The sand here is so fine and bright, it is beautiful to behold along with the crystal blue waters. The water is fairly shallow around here, so it is perfect for wading in when the sun heats up the water.
Shelly Beach – Manly
Just a short jaunt from Sydney by ferry is Manly, a cute little beach town with great waves for surfing! Most visitors sunbathe at Manly Beach, but if you walk the path southeast of the beach you’ll come across Shelly Beach. It is often quieter and has calmer waves than at Manly Beach. And what about the reason for its name? Of course because of the beautiful tiny shells you’ll find in replacement of sand on the beach!
Bondi Beach – Sydney
Bondi Beach is one of Australia’s most popular beaches, and for good reason! You’ll find surfers, sunbathers, skateboarders, muscle builders, and the famous Bondi Lifeguards all frolicking to this beach. During the summer, it gets very crowded. So get there early to mark your territory and make sure you have at least one person always watching your belongings.
7 Mile Beach – Gerroa
Just as the name says, this beach is long – 7 miles long! You’ll have no trouble finding a spot to settle down at when hanging out at the beach. The sand is firm as well, which makes for a perfect run along the beach.
